Use the app and you are agreeing to this. It is short because there is not much to it: be good to cats, be good to people, and know that the game rules can change while we tune them.

Be kind to cats and people

Take photos from where you are allowed to be. Do not climb fences, do not corner or grab an animal to get a shot, and do not go after other players. Upload photos of cats you took yourself. A cat having a nice day matters more than a card.

Your content

Your photos stay yours. You keep them, you can use them anywhere you like, and deleting your account takes them with it.

What you are giving us is permission to use the cats you find, and the photos you took of them, to build Chonk Finder and everything it grows into. That means the card you minted and the cat’s page, a printed card if you order one, and the things the world is becoming: animated shorts, comic strips, whatever a cat turns out to be good for. Sometimes that means drawing the cat rather than showing your photograph, and the drawing is ours.

Names stay. A cat is called what its finder called it, wherever it turns up. We will not sell your photo to anybody else, we will not use it to advertise something that is not this, and we will not put your face or your name on anything without asking.

If you own a cat that somebody else found and you would rather it stayed off the show, tell us and that is the end of it. The animal outranks the game, same as everywhere else here.

Game rules

Points, First Finder spots, Chonk status and the Chonk’s Favorite crown are all part of a game that is still being built. They can change. If someone games the system we will fix the scores, and we would rather do that than let the leaderboard become a lie.

Accounts

What happens on your device is on you. You can delete your account any time in Settings, and it goes for good.

No warranty

This is made by one person in Victoria. It is offered as is. We try hard to keep it running and we cannot promise it never breaks.
